I chose this video from the song 3WW by alt-J for the dramatic performance aspect, I liked the way in which the viewer could engage with the characters and are drawn into the story. The use of black and white also gives it more of a dramatic feel. The bullet time effect also draws my interest.
This video from the song illusion of seclusion by Photay is one of my favourites because of the unconventional style and the imagery they chose to match the music. The shots mirror the music and the effects also, I really like this as it still engages the audience without a performance aspect.
I chose this video from the song Cannibal from Marika Hackman, I liked the grotesque aspect to the over eating in the video and how it still linked to the lyrics, I also liked the mise-en-scene and lighting.
These videos are from Tom Rosenthal, I appreciate the informal approach to music and how the videos reflect this. The different techniques also used give variety and draws the viewer in.
Sophie these are good picks but I'd like to see some comments, however brief, on why you chose them. Also, your blog is in the wrong format - you won't be able to link list with this one I don't think. Can you change to Picture Window? You can still get it looking the same. Also, have you done your first music video analysis yet?
